Independence Day Cake
Independence Day Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. duncan hines deluxe fudge marble cake mix, 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin, 3/4 c. boiling water, 1/2 c. cold water and 1 tub duncan hines creamy vanilla frosting, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; set aside at room temperature.
Prepare and bake cake as directed on package for 13 x 9-inch pan.
Cool cake in pan on rack for 25 minutes.
Poke deep holes through top of cake with fork.
Space holes 1 inch apart. Slowly pour gelatin mixture over cooled cake.
Set in refrigerator while preparing frosting.
