In mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Blend in the potatoes and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa and soda; add alternately with the milk, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350Β° for 40 to 45 minutes.
Cool on rack.
