Icebox Rolls
Icebox Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 cake yeast, 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 egg, beaten and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon sugar.
Cream remaining sugar and shortening.
Pour boiling water over mixture. Add cold water, egg and yeast mixture.
Stir in flour and salt; mix well.
Refrigerate overnight.
Place the portions of dough to be used on floured board and shape as desired or roll.
Dip rolls in melted butter and place in pan.
Let rise at room temperature until double in size.
Bake at 400° to 425° for 12 minutes.
