Hungarian Gulyas
Hungarian Gulyas is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. beef flank, 2 tbsp. lard, 1 large onion, 1 green pepper and 2 large carrots, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Cut meat into squares.
Saute onion in lard; add paprika.
Stir well.
Add meat, salt, diced tomato and 1/4 cup water.
Cook slowly 1 hour.
Add washed and diced vegetables, except potatoes.
Add 1 cup water and cook slowly for 1/2 hour. Add potatoes and continue to cook for 15 minutes.
Add 1 quart cold water.
Let it come to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
Serve as main dish.
Dumplings can be added.
