Hot Water Gingerbread

Put molasses, shortening and sugar mixing bowl. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water and pour into bowl.
Mix well and let cool. Add eggs, nuts and raisins.
Mix and sift remaining ingredients.
Add to mixture in bowl, mix well until smooth.
Pour into 8 x 8 x 2-inch cake pan.
