Hot Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. boiling water, 2 beaten eggs, 3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 c. cold water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Combine eggs, sugar and 2 teaspoons of salt; beat in cold water.

Place in one bowl.

Soften yeast in lukewarm water.

In a large bowl of Mixmaster, put in shortening and add boiling water. Stir until shortening is melted.

Put in egg mixture and yeast mixture.

Mix well.

Add flour gradually using slow speed of mixer.

Dough will be soft, but rolls are perfect.

Cover top of bowl with a greased, inverted plate and leave to double in bulk. Punch down.

Roll half of dough.

Cover rolled dough with melted butter.

Cut with biscuit cutter and fold over.

Butter tops and set to rise again.

Repeat.

Bake at 350Β° until brown.

Makes two 9 x 13-inch pans.
