Cook apple slices in maple syrup over low heat until tender. Cool. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and spices.
Combine melted butter with water. Stir in dry ingredients and apple mixture.

Pour into greased and floured 9 x 11-inch pan. Bake at 375Β° for 30 minutes or until done.
