Homemade Mints is an easy dinner. Made with 1 (4 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened at room temperature, 1 stick butter or margarine, 2 boxes 10x confectioners sugar, 3 drops oil of peppermint (may have to get at drugstore) and 3 drops food color of your choice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Mix all of the ingredients by hand.
I use waxed paper and divide into 3 sections.
Knead until soft enough to roll into a long thin roll.
Cut either with scissors or a sharp knife.
Let stay on waxed paper for about an hour, then store in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
These will last for quite some time when stored this way.
