Homemade Eggnog
Homemade Eggnog is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 12 eggs, 4 c. sugar, 1 1/2 gal. milk, 3 pt. whipping cream and 1 1/4 pt. bourbon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Separate eggs.
Put yolks in very large pot and refrigerate whites.
Add sugar to yolks and blend thoroughly.
Slowly, add 1/2 bourbon to yolks and sugar (too fast will scramble the eggs!). Next, add the rest of the alcohol (you don't need to do this slowly).
Add the milk.
Beat the whipping cream until it peaks, then fold into mixture.
Finally, whip the egg whites and fold into the mixture.
This delicious brew will keep for several weeks!
