Cream butter.
Add sugar and beat until light.
Beat in egg. Add vanilla, sifted dry ingredients and cream; mix well.
Chill several hours.
Roll to 1/8-inch thickness and cut with fancy cutters.
Bake in moderate oven at 375Β° for 8 to 10 minutes. Decorate.
