Holiday Cookies
Holiday Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. shortening, 1 egg, 2/3 c. honey, 2 3/4 c. flour and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Mix the shortening, sugar, egg, honey and flavoring thoroughly.
Measure flour and sift together with soda and salt; mix well with shortening mixture.
Chill dough.
Heat oven to 375Β°.
Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick.
Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
When cool, cookies can be iced and decorated.
Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
