Hoke Cakes is an easy dinner. Made with 3 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal, 1/3 c. self-rising flour, 2 eggs, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 c. buttermilk or whole milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine the ingredients in mixing bowl.
Mix thoroughly.
In large skillet, pour in oil.
When hot, spoon in batter to make pancake like cakes.
Brown on both sides.
(After oil gets hot, reduce heat to medium-low.)
