Highland Toffee Bars
Highland Toffee Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. melted butter, 2 c. quick cooking oatmeal, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. light corn syrup and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Combine shortening and oatmeal.
Add sugar, corn syrup, salt and vanilla.
Mix well.
Press into well-greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Bake at 400Β° for 12 minutes.
When cool, loosen edges and remove from pan.
Coat with melted chocolate; sprinkle with nuts.
Cut into squares when chilled.
Makes about 36 squares.
