Mix cake mix according to directions.
With electric mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and salt; set aside.
Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full.
Drop teaspoon of cheese mixture to which chocolate chips have been added, into each cupcake-filled liner. Bake according to directions on cake mix package.
