Cream together shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, molasses and dry ingredients.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
Roll in string 3/4-inch wide and 1/2-inch thick.
Sprinkle sugar on top.
Bake at 375Β° on cookie sheet for 12 minutes.
Cool and cut in cookie size pieces.
