Heavenly Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. white lily self-rising flour, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/8 tsp. soda, 3 tbsp. crisco and 7/8 c. buttermilk (scant), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix first 3 ingredients.

Cut in shortening; add buttermilk all at once.

Mix just until moistened, the batter will be very wet. Let sit about a minute or two.

Put about a cup of flour (same kind) in another pie pan.

Spoon biscuit dough into plate of flour. (I use ice cream dipper sprayed with Pam.)

Flour hands; shape biscuits, shaking off most of flour.

Put into round 8-inch cake pan that has been sprayed with Pam.

Crowd together.

Bake at 475Β° for 15 minutes.

When done, brush on melted butter.

Let cool on a wire rack or eat immediately!
