Harvard Beets

Drain beets, reserving 1/3 cup of liquid.
In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Stir in reserved liquid, vinegar and butter.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.
Add beets; heat through.
Serves 4 or 5.
