Hard Candy
Hard Candy is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. light corn syrup, 2/3 c. water, 1/2 tsp. flavoring oils and few drops food coloring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cookie sheet with heavy foil; lightly grease. Butter sides of heavy 2 quart saucepan.
Add sugar, syrup and water. Bring boil, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Cook over medium heat to 300Β° on candy thermometer (hard crack). Remove heat, add flavoring oil and food coloring immediately.
Pour onto prepared pan at once.
When candy begins to harden around edges, cut into bite size pieces with shears. Coat lightly with powdered sugar.
Yield
About 1 1/2 pounds.
