Ham Strata
Ham Strata is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 16 slices white bread (with or without crusts), butter or margarine, 2 lb. chopped ham, 2 c. grated cheese (cheddar recommended but muenster or monterey jack may be used) and 5 beaten eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Butter both sides of bread slices.
Place 8 slices in 10 x 13-inch pan.
Add half the ham and cheese.
Top with remaining 8 slices of bread and cover with remaining ham and cheese.
Mix eggs, milk and mustard together and pour mixture over layered dish. Refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 325Β° for one hour or until top is golden brown.
If desired, mix crushed corn flakes with melted butter and sprinkle over casserole before baking.
May be made 1 to 2 days ahead.
Chopped onion may be added to ham and cheese.
