Gumdrop Cake
Gumdrop Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 34 minutes. Made with c. shortening, c. sugar, eggs, c. applesauce and . soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
π¨βπ³ Instructions
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Mix applesauce, soda and water and add to creamed mixture.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, and mix well.
Then add gumdrops, raisins, nuts, and final 1 c. flour.
Mix well and bake in 9 inch tube pan at 350Β° for 2 hours 15 minutes.
(Paper bottom and grease sides.)
Let cool a few minutes, then remove from pan.
This cake is just like fruitcake, but doesn't have the fruits.
