Greek Bulgur
Greek Bulgur is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, 3 c. coarse bulgur (cracked wheat), 2 onions, finely chopped, 6 c. chicken or beef broth (or mixed) and 2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Melt 1/2 cup butter in skillet.
Add dry bulgur; saute well. In a separate pan, saute onion in 1/4 cup butter until yellow gold.
Mix with bulgur.
Add broth, seasonings and nuts.
Stir well.
Bake in an uncovered casserole at 375Β° for 30 minutes. Adjust seasonings and stir.
Bake 10 minutes longer.
(This freezes well or keeps in refrigerator 2 days.)
