Grated Apple Pie
Grated Apple Pie is an easy dinner. Made with 6 or 7 nice tart apples, 1 to 1 1/4 c. sugar (according to tartness of apples) and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Grate the apples (using side of grater on which you shred cabbage).
Pour sugar over grated apples and mix well.
Pour into an uncooked 9-inch pie crust and sprinkle cinnamon over top.
Bake in preheated 350° oven for 20 minutes.
Turn down to 325° and let stay for about 35 minutes more or until done.
Pie has a syrupy or glazed effect.
Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
