Grape-Nuts Bread
Grape-Nuts Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, scalded, 1 c. grape-nuts cereal, 1 tsp. salt, 3 c. sifted flour and 4 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Pour milk over Grape-Nuts; cool.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.
Add egg and shortening to Grape-Nuts mixture; stir well.
Add flour mixture, stirring only enough to dampen all flour.
Turn into greased loaf pan; let stand 20 minutes.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Makes one 9 x 4 x 3-inch loaf.
