Gougere
Gougere is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. margarine, 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 4 eggs, 3 c. grated sharp cheddar and 1 c. grated swiss, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Preheat oven to 375°.
In a medium saucepan, melt margarine over medium heat.
Add flour and stir until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and continue stirring until mixture cools.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, stirring until mixture is slightly glossy and smooth.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour batter into a greased 10-inch iron skillet.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut bread into slices and serve.
