Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 2 1/4 c. shortening, 3 eggs, 3/4 c. molasses and 3 tbsp. ground ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream sugar and shortening.

Add eggs and molasses and beat well.

Add spices, soda and salt.

Mix well.

Gradually add flour. Dough will become very stiff and may require mixing by hand.

Form 1-inch balls from dough.

Roll in granulated sugar and place 2-inches apart on cookie sheet.

Don't flatten.

Bake at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.

They shouldn't be overly brown when taken out of the oven.

They will be puffed up when taken from oven but will be snappy when cooled.
