Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 unbeaten egg, 2 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. cloves and 1 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream shortening; add sugar and beat again.

Add egg, molasses and beat.

Add remaining ingredients which have been sifted together.

(I put dough in refrigerator until it's firm and use a glass to press down before baking.)

Roll dough into balls size of small walnuts.

Roll in sugar and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350Β° for about 15 minutes.
