Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 2 c. all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Combine the sugar with flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.

Cut in shortening until mixture looks like crumbs. Stir in molasses and egg.

Mix well.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls - no bigger- and roll in sugar.

Bake at 350Β° for 10 minutes.

Remove from cookie sheet immediately because cookies firm quickly as they cool.

Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies. These are good and easy to make.
