Gingerbread
Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. brown sugar (white sugar will do), 2 eggs, 1 c. light molasses and 1 heaping tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, then molasses.
Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together; mix in.
Last, add the boiling water, very slowly, stirring constantly.
Bake in a shallow greased pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350Β°.
