German Style Carrots is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. fresh carrots, 2 tbsp. margarine, 1 medium onion, sliced thin, 2 tbsp. white sugar and 1/2 tsp. dry sweet basil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Clean carrots and slice in 1/4-inch rounds.
Put margarine in bottom of pan.
Add carrots, onion, sugar and basil; salt and pepper, if desired.
Add no water.
Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes.
Do not remove lid.
Steam in what cooks the carrots. Makes 6 servings.
