German Spinach
German Spinach is an easy dinner. Made with 1 large pkg fresh spinach or 2 boxes frozen spinach, 1 small onion (chopped) and several slices bacon (microwave till crisp), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Boil spinach till tender. Saute onion in small amount of butter/margarine. Drain spinach and chop into pieces. Add chopped spinach into onion and simmer for a few minutes.
Add small amount of milk depending on amount of spinach.
Add 1 beaten egg, sprinkle Tbsp. flour into spinach and crumbled bacon. Serve warm. From German Pioneers/San Antonio.
