Beat eggs lightly; add sugar and stir together.
Add flour, sifted with a pinch of salt, the baking powder and the spices. Dredge almonds in a little flour and fold in.
Add flavoring. Bake in a large, shallow pan in a 350° oven, raising heat gradually to 375°.
Bake from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Cool cake in the pan.
Cut in squares.
Recipe makes 1 large cake.
