German Chocolate Layer Bars
German Chocolate Layer Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. german chocolate cake mix, 3/4 c. butter or margarine (soft), 1 c. chopped nutmeats, 2/3 c. evaporated milk and 1 (14 oz.) pkg. kraft caramels, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Combine cake mix, butter, nuts and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Press 1/2 of cake mixture into pan; bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Melt caramels with remaining 1/3 cup milk; spread over cake mixture.
Put chocolate chips on top of caramels, then the remaining cake mixture over the chocolate chips.
Spread lightly.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350°. Cut when cool.
