German Chocolate Brownies
German Chocolate Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 bag caramels (approximately 60), 2/3 c. evaporated milk, 1 german chocolate cake mix, 3/4 c. melted butter and 1 c. nuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk together over low heat, stirring constantly.
Mix cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, butter and nuts together and divide into 2 parts.
Mix 1 cup of melted chocolate chips into 1/2 of cake mixture and pat into a 9 x 12-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 8 minutes.
Remove.
Add rest of chips and layer of caramel.
Crumble remaining 1/2 of cake mixture on top.
Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes.
Cool slightly and refrigerate for approximately 30 minutes.
