German Apple Cake
German apple cake layers cinnamon-sugared apple slices through an orange-vanilla tube cake batter, baking into a tall tender cake with fruit ribbons and a fragrant crumb.
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
Beat the eggs and 2 cups sugar until thick, then add the oil and orange juice alternately with the dry ingredients.
Stir in the vanilla and pour half the batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
Toss the apples with cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar, then layer half over the batter.
