German Apple Cake
German Apple Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 4 eggs and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine the first 3 ingredients; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl beat eggs and 2 cups sugar.
Combine oil and orange juice; add alternately with dry ingredients, to egg and sugar mixture.
Mix well.
Add vanilla.
Pour half the batter in greased and floured tube pan.
Arrange half the apples over the batter.
Sprinkle half the cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar mixture over top.
Add remaining batter; top with apples and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Let cake cool 1 hour in pan; remove from pan, apple side up.
Cool to cut.
