Fruit Filled Squares
Fruit Filled Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks margarine, 4 eggs, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. almond extract (optional) and 1 can raspberry, cherry or strawberry pie filling, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Cream margarine, sugar and extracts; add eggs one at a time.
Mix flour and baking powder; add to dough.
Mixture will be very thick and stiff.
Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake pan.
Place 1/2 of batter in pan; spread with spatula. Spread can of pie filling on batter.
Drop rest of batter by spoonfuls, leaving space between; batter will spread during baking.
Bake 35 minutes until top is browned and tests done. Cool in pan on rack and cut in squares or bars.
