Fresh Stewed Corn is an easy dinner. Made with 5 to 6 ears corn (white or yellow), 1 tbsp. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. water and 2 tbsp. bacon fat or 1/2 stick butter or margarine or drippings from 2 slices fried salt pork, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Shuck the corn and remove the silks.
Wash the corn and dry it with paper towels.
Place the ears directly on the middle oven rack.
Bake at 375Β° for 20 minutes.
Turn oven to broil and turn corn to brown all over, cooking about 15 minutes more.
Serve with butter.
