Fresh Cooked Shrimp
Fresh Cooked Shrimp is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 c. water, 2 tbsp. salt, 2 tbsp. vinegar, 2 bay leaves and 1 tsp. mixed pickling spices, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Combine water, salt, vinegar, bay leaves, spices and celery. Bring to boil.
Add shrimp (in shell or peeled and deveined). Cover, heat to boiling again.
Lower and simmer gently for 5 minutes more until shrimp turns pink; drain.
If cooked in shell, peel shrimp and remove veins that run down back.
Serve as an appetizer.
Chill and pass cocktail sauce.
Makes 4 or 5 servings.
