Fresh Apple Cake

Pour sugar over apples and let stand about 1 hour.
Separate eggs.
Beat whites stiff.
Add yolk and Crisco oil.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Pour egg mixture over apples.
Add dry ingredients and nuts; mix well.
Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 350Β° for about 60 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
