Mix sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, salt and lemon juice; beat well.
Sift flour, soda and spices.
Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and beat.

Bake in a 10-inch stem pan which has been greased and floured.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 1/2 hours.
A Bundt pan is ideal.
This cake freezes well.
