French Muffins
French Muffins is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. soft shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 1/2 c. sifted flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Combine shortening, half of the sugar, and egg; mix thoroughly.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir into egg mixture alternately with milk.
Beat well after each addition.
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately roll in melted butter and then in mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon.
Serve hot.
