French Casserole
French Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 slices bacon, 2 lb. ground beef or pork and beef mixture, 1 can (16 oz.) red kidney beans, drained, 1 can (16 oz.) white northern beans, drained and 1 can (16 oz.) sliced carrots, drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Saute bacon in a large pan until fat starts to cook out. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Shape ground beef in a large patty.
Brown for 5 minutes on each side in same pan.
Pour off drippings, then break meat into chunks.
Stir beans, carrots and tomatoes into meat.
Add seasonings.
Heat to boiling.
Spoon into a 10-cup baking dish.
Place bacon on top.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Makes 8 servings.
