Freezer Pickles
Freezer Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 qt. cucumbers, peeled and sliced thin, 1 c. onion, sliced thin, 2 tbsp. non-iodized salt, 2 c. vinegar and 1 1/2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Put cucumber and onion in a large bowl.
Sprinkle with salt and mix.
Let stand 2 hours or more.
Drain.
DO NOT RINSE.
Heat vinegar and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
Drop onion and dill seed in hot vinegar.
Reheat to just before boiling.
DO NOT BOIL. Put in containers to cool and freeze.
