Freezer Biscuits
Freezer Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 5 c. flour, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. baking powder and 2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix yeast and water; set aside.
Mix flour, soda, salt, sugar and baking powder.
Cut shortening into flour mixture.
Add yeast mixture and buttermilk; mix.
Roll out on flour covered surface. Cut and place on cookie sheet.
Let rise for awhile and freeze until hard.
Put in closed container or freezer bag.
To bake, place frozen biscuits on greased cookie sheet and bake at 400Β° until done.
