Fred's Pound Cake

Combine buttermilk and baking soda; set aside.
(Baking soda will react with buttermilk and volume will increase.) Preheat oven to 325Β°.
Cream together butter (at room temperature) and sugar. Alternately add eggs, one at a time, with flour and buttermilk mixture.
Bake for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes or until golden brown.
