Flaky Pastry is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 8 tbsp. cold butter, 3 tbsp. chilled shortening and 1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine flour and salt in a large bowl.
Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Sprinkle in the lemon juice or vinegar and 5 to 6 tablespoons cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and toss until dough just comes together in clumps.
Shape into 2 discs, one slightly larger than the other.
Wrap in plastic and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
Makes 1 (2 crust) 9-inch pie.
