Feathery Light Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. flour, 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. shortening (crisco) and 1/3 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening.
Add milk and egg. Drop by spoonful on top of boiling meat and juices (I use ham). Cover tightly and steam 12 minutes without removing cover.
Makes 6 fluffy dumplings.
