Everyday Dinner Rolls
Everyday Dinner Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. milk, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 cake compressed yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Scald milk.
Add the shortening, salt and sugar; allow to cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; add to mixture. Add the flour to the liquid gradually, mixing well after each addition until a soft dough is formed.
Cover the bowl tightly, set in warm place, and allow to rise until double in bulk.
Turn onto a floured board; knead until the dough can be easily handled and mold into rolls.
Place in a well-greased pan; let rise again until double in bulk.
Bake in a hot oven (375Β°) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
