Escalloped Oysters
Escalloped Oysters is an easy dinner. Made with 1 pt. small oysters, 1/2 lb. saltine crackers, 1/8 lb. butter, 28 oz. milk and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Butter a 2 1/2-quart casserole. Check oysters for shell pieces.
Crushed crackers, oysters, butter, salt and pepper, about or 3 layers. Pour any oyster juice over top. Scald milk.
Pour over all. Bake in hot oven at 400Β° for 30 to 40 minutes.
Insert knife in center; should come out clean, like a custard pie. This can be doubled easily; use a larger casserole.
