English Wassail is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 gal. cider, 1/2 tsp. cloves, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade and 1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine cider, sugar, undiluted lemonade and orange juice in a large kettle.
Heat to simmering.
Add spices.
Cover.
Heat to simmering and leave for 20 minutes.
Serve hot.
Add spirits if desired (apple brandy or rum).
Some folks start with tea or cranberry juice, others with cider.
The cider beverage has the virtue of outstanding aroma and can "perfume" the whole house. This is good to come into on a cold day.
